This is a quick introduction to Drift Day.  The contents of this page may also apply to other organized drift events and we encourage everyone to prepare and be safe.

Registration

 

First off, Drift Day will fill up very quickly.  Do not hesitate to register otherwise you might miss the opportunity to pay in time.  We have had some Drift Days fill up in 8 hours so be prepared to pay.

 

Tips...

 

1.  Be sure to have your account made at www.myautoevents.com

2.  Expect registration to open 3-4 weeks before the date of the event

3.  Check your personal calendar date to see if you are able to register.

4.  Check our website often for dates and time of the next Drift Day.

 

Pre planning

 

Now that you are registered for the event, you should take some pre cautions prior to the actual date.

 

Tips for the driver.....

 

1.  Stay hydrated. 

    A.  You may bring drinks for personal consumption. 

2.  Bring Sun block and stay in the shade during the hot days...

    A.  Tents are welcome at Drift Days but be sure to find something to weigh them down in case of high winds

3.  Bring extra clothing.  Weather may fluctuate at these venues and it is always wise to bring extra clothing

4.  Snacks and lunches are always a good idea.  In addition, it keeps you on the property to return driving without loosing too much time in your day.

5.  Sleep before the event. 

6.  Having a AAA membership is always a good idea. 

 

Tips for you car....

 

1.  Bring spares...Lots of spares...

2.  Make sure your gauges are functioning properly. 

3.  Remember, if you drive your car to event, you will have to drive it home as well.  If your last set of tires are low on tread, call it the day and wait for the next Drift Day.

 

We want to make sure that everyone makes it home after every event.

 

Tech

 

Once you have properly registered for the event, you will want you and car prepared for a full day of driving.  If you are planning to get your car teched on-site, be sure to show up early and see our staff members in morning.  They will direct you to a tech personnel and have your car teched.  You must get your car teched first before proceeding to registration.

 

Tips...

 

1.  Try and get your car looked at before the event.  You might want to download our tech inspection sheet and review the items we will be looking for at an event.

2.  Don't be shy to ask questions about regarding your car to our tech inspector at Richard@Driftday.com

3.  Our tech inspector will determine whether your car can drive.  If you fail tech, then you can either fix the problem and get the car re-inspected or you may contact Moto or Naoki to determine your refund situation.

Parking

 

Upon arrival, you should find a place to park and get prepared for tech.  Unload all of your equipment and get your car ready.

 

Tips....

 

1.  Do not leave important personal items at your spot when you are driving unless you have someone there watching it.

2.  Please help us and the property by cleaning up after yourself.

 

Registration

 

Once your car passes tech, you must go to registration to complete your check in process.  There will be a desk with someone to check your name, hand your group assignment, wristband and Drift Day sticker.  You will not be allowed to drive if you are missing any of these items.

 

Tips...

 

1.  Have a copy of your registration with you in case there is a problem with registration.

2.  Have your license or identification to verify your entry.

3.  Do not loose your wrist band or group assignment sticker.

4.  Do not ask for extra Drift Day stickers. 

 

Driver's meeting

 

There will always be a driver's meeting before the day begins.  If you miss the driver's meeting, you might not be able to drive.  The entire event is based on how well driver's understands the event flow and we ask that you do not miss the driver's meeting.

 

Tips...

 

1.  Listen to announcements made by our staff.

2.  Do not wander too far away from your car.

3.  Ask questions during the meeting.  Don't be shy because there might be someone else wondering the same thing

 

Driving

 

Always have your helmet with you before entering the course.  Be sure you to have your wristband and stickers on your car before lining up.

 

Tips....

 

1.  Check your schedule

2.  Note:  The driver pictured on the right has his wrist band on with his tech/group sticker clearly visible on the top corner of his wind shield.  His helmet is on and seat belt fastened.

 

Warning to all attendees of Drift Day (spectators included)

 

If you do any of the following, you will be removed from the property immediately.

 

1.  Trying to drive on the course without paying.

2.  Burn outs or speeding in the pit area.

3.  Rude conduct toward drivers and staff of Drift Day.

4.  Drift Association will prosecute and file charges to the full extent of the law for anyone caught stealing or vandalizing property.

 

 

Media

 

We often get 6-10 inquiries per Drift Day and we ask everyone to be very patient for a response.  It is our goal to provide excellent content for all forms of media groups and we ask all organizations to do the following.

 

1.  Wait for an email confirmation from either Moto or Naoki to film or take pictures on property.

2.  Wear bright clothing and have a spotter for every cameraman shooting near the course.

3.  Bring credentials or contact information for Drift Association to keep for reference

4.  Film crews that are filming for commercial purposes must get approval from the property before filming.

 

 

 

Additional driving tips

 

1.  If you don't ask, are you learning anything?  Ask our instructors... that is why they are there....

 

2.  Keep an open mind and avoid getting tips from anyone besides our instructors.  Drift Day is the real thing and there is no video or instructions on the internet that will help you more than attending a Drift event.
